Bank Holiday weekend at the Log Cabin

After last weekend’s washout – with both first and second team matches against Nelson starting on Sunday but ultimately being abandoned – we are slightly more hopeful of some cricket at the Log Cabin this bank holiday weekend.

The forecast looks dry for the next few days and we are even promised some sun for Sunday and Monday!

Tonight (Friday) sees junior practice return at 6pm after its own washout last week, while our T20 squad travel to Rawtenstall for their first match in this year’s T20 competition. Wickets are pitched at 6pm.

There are no matches scheduled for Saturday but both the first and second teams are in action on Sunday with the firsts entertaining their counterparts from Great Harwood and the seconds making the opposite trip to The Cliffe in Great Harwood. Wickets are pitched in both matches at 1pm.

On Monday the thirds play away at Burnley (wickets pitched at 1pm), while Monday evening will see our Under 9’s team hosting five other clubs as six matches are played across three wickets in the outfield. All the fun starts at 6pm.

Covid regulations are still in force with social distancing still to the fore, masks being worn inside and table / bench service still required for the purchase of alcohol.

Please also remember that you need to remain seated when drinking outside so that unfortunately means no walking around with alcohol.

We have increased our seating capacity significantly since the start of the season and there will be more tables going up over the weekend so this shouldn’t cause an issue and you are welcome to bring your own camping chairs along to increase that seating capacity further.
