Greenmount Cricket Club are delighted that chef and club member Danny Hornby has agreed to take over catering duties at the Log Cabin.
Danny will be well known to many people in the area as he was formerly chef at Ramsbottom’s Owen’s Restaurant and prior to that worked his culinary magic at the Red Lion Hotel at Hawkshaw.
Not only will he be providing players’ teas from our newly refurbished kitchen once regulations allow, he will provide members with a range of snacks and sandwiches throughout the weekend from Friday through to Sunday.
Danny takes up the reins this Saturday and Sunday (14th & 15th August) when he will be serving up breakfasts from 10am to 1pm. On both days you can enjoy a full English, bacon or sausage muffins (with egg, cheese or hash browns), salmon and scrambled egg bagel or toast with poached or scrambled egg or beans.
Then, from 1pm to 8.30pm on Saturday and 1pm to 6pm on Sunday, he will be on hand to provide snacks such as salt and pepper chicken, soups, garlic bread, breaded brie and cranberry, cheese baked mushrooms with garlic and spinach and chips.
For those who just want a sandwich there’s steak and onion, brie and cranberry (with bacon), BLT, Cajun chicken, tuna melt, plain ham and cheese, all served with salad and fries.
Danny will also be available to cater for any functions that the club host at the Log Cabin and from next Friday (20th August) will serve up snacks and sandwiches in the early evening during Junior Practice.
Look out for the ‘Danny’s At The Log Cabin’ menus that will be circulating around the clubhouse for an up-to-date list of what he has to offer.
