Greenmount bowed out of the JW Lees 20-20 competition for 2022 following an eight-wicket defeat at the hands of local rivals Ramsbottom on Friday evening.
The Mount won the toss, chose to bat, and put on 167 for 7 from their 20 overs. Professional Chesney Hughes top scored for the villagers, hitting 48 including two sixes and six fours, while Tom Heaton scored 38 and Mo Ashfaq 24.
That total proved to be easy meat for the Rammy lads who were ably led by their skipper Kieren Grimshaw who was unbeaten on 72.
Brad Fielding (29), Jake Walker (25) and professional Sen Muthusamy – who was unbeaten on 36 – saw them comfortably home for the loss of two wickets with more than three overs to spare.
