Chairman Rob Kilvington has circulated the latest information surrounding plans to re-open the club and bar in line with Covid 19 safety regulations.
A newsletter solely devoted to the rules can be downloaded from the Chairman’s Newsletter page on the Members area of this website.
Included are the curtailed opening times (which will be reviewed on a rolling basis) and rules regarding the ordering of drinks (a waiter/waitress service will be in operation), seating, use of the club’s toilet facilities as well as other restrictions regarding the ‘Rule of Six’ and social distancing.
Particularly important is the decision to initially allow only club members to buy drinks from the bar and only members who have the new 2021 membership cards with them.
Speaking about the opening, Rob said: “It will inevitably take a few days for all our staff to fully understand what works best so with that in mind your support and patience will be very much appreciated.
“It is all completely new to us and we have potentially a significant area to serve so please bear with us.”
Feedback from the licencing teams within both GMP and Bury Council suggest that flouting of the rules will result in the club being fined along with any errant customers.
Any fines charged to the club will have a major impact on the the renewal of its alcohol licence.
“As the bar income accounts for a significant proportion of our total income the loss of our licence would have a catastrophic impact on our future,” added Rob.
The competitive playing season is due to start next weekend (17th – 18th April) with Junior Practice beginning on Friday 17th April.
PLEASE NOTE: Members who have renewed their subscriptions can pick up their cards from the club from April 12. New subscriptions must wait 48 hours before they can pick up their card and become active members.
