Skippers stay the same for new campaign

It’s ‘as you were’ for Greenmount Cricket Club ahead of their inaugural season in the Lancashire League.

First team skipper Ryan Senior

All three senior teams elected to continue with their respective captains from last summer’s curtailed campaign.

Ryan Senior will again lead the club’s first team, with Alex Bullen landing the job for the second eleven while Mark Crowther will continue in his role in the thirds.

The club gets this summer’s season underway with friendly games on Saturday 10th April – first team away at Todmorden, with the second eleven at home to Todmorden’s second string.

Then on Saturday 17th April the firsts are away at Lowerhouse while the seconds entertain their Lowerhouse counterparts.

Meanwhile the third team start their league season at home to Enfield on Sunday 11th April and then travel to Church for their second game of the season on Saturday 17th April.

The first and second teams begin their league programme with matches against Accrington on Sunday 18th April. The firsts travel to Thorneyholme Road, while the seconds entertain Accy’s second string at the Log Cabin.

Fancy a spot of umpiring?

For the forthcoming season we will need to provide club umpires for 3rd team matches. These matches are 40 overs a side and we would ideally like to share this across two or three people throughout the 16 match season. We already have one volunteer but if you would like to help us out please contact chairman Rob Kilvington on 07904 546513. Umpires receive a fee of £40 and a tea.
