Weekly round-up and what’s on…

We hope you all had a safe and enjoyable Bonfire Night!

We’ve got a busy few weeks ahead, so keep reading for all the details on Rembrance Day; Quiz Night with pop-up pizza, our Sunday menu, live music and more.

REMEMBRANCE DAY SERVICE

A Service of Remembrance when various community groups will lay wreaths on the war memorial. Everyone is welcome to this short service.

  • Date: Tuesday, November 11th
  • Time & Location: 10.45am outside Greenmount URC Church
  • Follow-up: Laying of a wreath on the Greenmount CC memorial will take place around 1.25am.

Glenn Hodson will lay a wreath on behalf of his late father Fred Hodson, who served in the Second World War and knew all the young men named on the cricket club memorial.

Many years ago there were so many Hodson family members playing cricket at The Mount that they had enough for a family match against the large Brooks family of Summerseat!

You can learn more about the seven young friends and Greenmount CC players who lost their lives in service during the Second World War by reading the interesting article on the club website HERE.

Vicky Hall continues in the roll of assistant manager and we would like to place on record our thanks to her for a fantastic job in keeping the place in order during this transitional period.
