Greenmount CC are sad to report that former player and long-time member Jimmy Sharples has died at the age of 82.
Jimmy began playing at Greenmount in the 1960s and was always a familiar, friendly face around the Log Cabin as was his late wife Doreen.
His two sons, John and James also played at the club while James’ two sons James and Harry keep the family tradition by playing in the junior section.
Jimmy’s funeral will be held at East Lancashire Crematorium, Radcliffe on Thursday, 3rd July at 1.30pm and afterwards at the Log Cabin where the family invite everyone to share their memories of Jimmy.
