Weekly round up and what’s on…

Just a few days to go before our BIG Bank Holiday Charity Event to raise money for Bury Hospice in memory of Ursula Skinner.

There’s something for everyone on the day and activities include:

  • Our Under-9 girls’ team playing against Bradshaw.
  • An opportunity to meet Greenmount’s Reuben Ward Scotland international gymnast and Commonwealth Games gold medal winner.
  • A chance to bowl at our professional Jacques Snyman – if you dare!
  • Plenty of food and drink on offer: Greenmount Grill, Fratelli Pizza, Mala, Moo2You and Muddy Mochas with the bar open from 12 noon.
  • T20 cricket featuring Greenmount Veterans v The Lashups.

FREE ENTRY on the day but a donation to Bury Hospice would be highly encouraged and hugely appreciated.

You can also make a contribution NOW at our dedicated GoFundMe page HERE

Timing of the events on the day is fairly fluid but if you get down to the club by 1pm you won’t miss out.

We recommend walking if you can – parking will be very limited due to the number of great food stalls situated in our car park!

So don’t go anywhere else next Monday – we expect a monster crowd for this event, please!

CRICKET COMING UP

This week the thirds travel to Enfield on Saturday for their final match of the season.

The first team have a massive local derby against Ramsbottom at Acre Bottom on Sunday (30th) while the second team host the reverse fixture.

AUDREY’S KITCHEN

Just a reminder that Charlotte is away in Cornwall; however, it’s a Fratelli Pizza takeover this weekend, so there’s plenty to tempt your taste buds.

The pizza team will be here all weekend including at the Bank Holiday Charity Event.

LIVE FOOTBALL ON TV

It’s back! Premier League football on TV – don’t miss a kick live at the Log Cabin. A summary of this week’s action is below:

  • Saturday, 29th August: Spurs v Newcastle (5.30pm).
  • Sunday, 30th August: Leeds v Brentford (2pm); Man Utd v Ipswich (4.30pm).
  • Monday, 31st August: Aston Villa v Arsenal (8pm).

Come on GCC members – let’s see a massive turnout for the Bank Holiday!

There’s plenty more to enjoy over the weekend so let’s hope the weather is kind.

Thanks in advance for your support.
