Frank – father of club chairman Andy Skinner – joined the Mount in the early 1970s following a move into the area. He had previously played for his village club Read, near Burnley, in the Ribblesdale League.

The new till system will be installed on Monday, February 24th and from that date it will be a requirement that all members provide their new membership card when making a purchase from the bar.

Cards need to be swiped on the till by the bar staff which will show the members’ name and automatically discount bar prices.

New cards are ready for collection from the club.

  1. The membership year for everyone will still run from April 1st to March 31st
  2. You will still receive a renewal email in Feb/March each year
  3. If you do not renew by March 31st each year, your membership will show as deactivated on the till from April 1st. Thereafter, it will only be activated from the date you renew
  4. You will NOT receive a new card each membership renewal
  5. Members cannot give their cards to anyone else to use and the card can be confiscated if misused
  6. If you lose your card it can be replaced but there will be a £2.50 fee

We would ask for your help and patience so that we can implement the new system as smoothly as possible and for members to use their cards as they are intended.

We have already received a great response to the quiz on Friday, March 7th and there are only a few spaces left for teams.

As a reminder, teams can be from two to six people. Food via Summerseat Pie Company is included and the cost is £10 per person.

If you would like a team, we suggest you act quickly and let us know ASAP. At the same time please advise how many of the team would like meat & potato or cheese & onion pie.

Following the closure of Harrison’s at Greenmount an opportunity has arisen to take on the role of operating and managing your own catering business within the club.

Our facilities, prime village location and growing membership, along with a vibrant cricket proposition, all offer excellent potential to develop your own business working in close partnership with the club.

As we are primarily a cricket club, the provision of cricket teas will form an essential part of the arrangement as we host two senior matches at weekends pretty much every week from mid April to mid September.

If you believe, or know someone, that could offer an attractive catering solution please reply to this email: helen@peterbowker.plus.com

Applications close on Friday, February 21st.

The club are installing a new till system by the end of February.

The new tills will require staff to swipe your membership cards, which will have a magnetic strip to identify you and show if your membership is active, prices will then be automatically discounted.

New membership cards will be issued to all existing members over the next two weeks and an email will be sent, detailing how to collect your new card.

These cards are NOT to be used by anyone except the member and can be confiscated if misused.

If lost there will be a charge to replace them. More details will be sent shortly.

The club are sad to announce the closure of Harrison’s at Greenmount with immediate effect after two years’ partnership.

We would like to thank Chris for all his hard work and dedication during this time and for his tasty specials and excellent cricket teas.

Sadly, Chris has decided to move on to new ventures and all at the club wish him every success in his next project.
