Farewell to 2023, key dates for 2024 diary
At the end of the 2022 season we resolved to put Greenmount CC back at the forefront of local cricket and as we approach Christmas ’23 there’s no doubt we’ve made some solid progress.
A season which brought us the pyrotechnic performances of Jacques Snyman, our first major Lancashire league trophy, the third team winning their division, two age group league wins along with county age group and coaching recognition has served to put us well and truly on the radar.
So what have we got to look forward to in 2024?
Among many things we have spanking new net facilities, new training and leisurewear range now available and new playing kit to come – and of course Jacques will be returning from South Africa in April!
Here are some key dates to note in your calendars for the early part of the new year.
Sunday 21st January – 2pm – Players Meeting at GCC .
Come and hear all about objectives and plans for the season ahead, see the further improved club facilities, meet new teammates, get ready for the start of serious pre-season indoor preparations.
Friday 2nd February – 6pm-8pm – Woodhey Sports Hall. Age group indoor nets for ages 12-17. This will be an eight week programme, cost is £50 per player.
Sunday 3rd February – 3pm-4pm – Bury Grammar Boys School Sports Hall. Age group foundation training for ages 9-11. This will also be an eight week programme, cost is £20 per player.
Sunday 4th February – 4-6pm – Bury Grammar Boys School Sports Hall. Senior training and indoor nets. Once again, this is an eight week programme, cost is £40 per player.
Please note we prefer cash payments in full for all three indoor courses.
More details will be communicated at the players’ meeting and via the senior captains and age group managers in the early part of January.
