Happily, it was a much better weekend to report this week.
The first team overcame Norden to win a high-scoring encounter by seven wickets, recording their first win in four weeks.
Chasing a challenging total of 285, the Mount made light work of the task with Andy Kerr batting through for a superb unbeaten 100.

Jacques Snyman entertained spectators with a trademark 93 and skipper Travis Townsend maintained momentum with 46 not out.
Andy and Travis’s winning partnership was unbroken at 118 by the finish.

The second team were well beaten at Norden, bowled out for 93 the home side knocked them off for the loss of three wickets.
Meanwhile, the third team enjoyed a well-earned win at Clitheroe on Saturday by just two wickets.
Ben Clarke led the way with the bat hitting a fine 40 including six fours.
However, the performance of the day came from young Ed Cunnington who had an outstanding match, snaring five wickets for just 16 runs and then scoring an unbeaten 19.
Ed had a fantastic weekend overall as he also achieved nine Grade 9s in his GCSE exams.
