Looking back to last week a big thank-you to all the parents and juniors for making the junior presentation the joyous occasion that it was.
While it’s great to celebrate the success of the club’s future stars, it wouldn’t be possible without the parents. A special mention to Andy Kerr who led the event and made it possible.
This week we really want to draw your attention to the events calendar, remind you that football is back thank goodness and share a special mention from the junior presentation evening.
THE MALCOLM GRIME AWARD
This award is given to a promising under-13 junior player. To be considered the player must be someone who performs well but must also carry themselves well, lead by example and act as a role model for other aspiring juniors.
This is all true of James Herbert who in 2026, made his senior cricket debut and didn’t look remotely out of place.
Congratulations James, well deserved.
GCC QUIZ SPECTACULAR (£5 per team)
Ian’s famous quiz returns on Friday, 23rd October.
Get the team back together, brush up on your general knowledge and prepare for another great evening at the club. Whether a general knowledge aficionado or wanting to try your luck, everyone is welcome.
As the sun sets earlier, the winter feeling kicks in, head down to the club and try your hand at the quiz, you might surprise yourself.
Want to take part? Simply register your interest with our bar staff by providing a team name. The quiz is £5 per team. Prize to be announced.

ROCK NIGHT – SATURDAY, 17th OCTOBER

Performed live by a six-piece band, the show will celebrate Bowie’s incredible career with songs spanning the different eras of one of music’s most iconic artists.

CRICKET
The senior presentation is this Friday, 16th October at 7pm with board director Wes Young acting as master of ceremonies.
Please advise Travis Townsend if you would like to attend.
We look forward to celebrating all of our on field successes together. We will also talk about our hope and aspirations for next year with the addition of a coach and some changes in focus.
WREATH MAKING – Not many tickets left – get yours now
