It’s hard to believe, after last week’s weather, that the Rothesay County Championship kicks off this Friday, 3rd April, with Lancashire away to Northants!
Preparations for the cricket season are in full swing with the clocks going forward and there are now just 20 days to go until our first Lancashire League encounter.
Here’s a quick update as we head into the Easter weekend.
CRICKET
Professional Jacques Snyman will arrive on Tuesday, 14th April for his fourth term with Greenmount CC, fresh from a highly-successful campaign where his team, the Knights, achieved a treble-winning trophy season.

Our final senior indoor training session is on Saturday, 4th April at Darwen CC. This is the last opportunity for players to take advantage of these excellent facilities and get ready for outdoor action.
Indoor junior training has now finished. We are planning to hold our first outdoor Friday sessions on 17th April, subject, of course, to the weather and ground conditions.
Regarding the ground, we ask everyone to please respect the clearly marked signs which state ‘Keep off the grass‘. The ground is extremely wet from the recent rain and we need everyone to stay off until it has dried out sufficiently.
Senior outdoor training is scheduled to start on Tuesday, 7th April. Please check with your team captain as this will be heavily dependent on ground conditions and may be moved to an indoor location.
